ARTIST STATEMENT

For many years I explored different techniques and mediums. Now, concentrating on acrylic painting, incorporating graphics with floral images.

I am drawn to the floral shapes and I'm playing with the mirror image motif. Within the mirror image the flower becomes another visual entirely. I then merge these visuals with abstract shapes into a composition of contrast., hard and soft, dark and light.

My vision is that art should not represent life as it truely is but as life is in imagination. The creative power is in the imagination of the viewer. The artist is just doing their "thing". Not always understanding "why". Compelled to create what comes naturally. A gift.
